As reported by Joystiq, Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi has left Namco-Bandai. Aside from making awesome ball rolling games, he was also responsible for the unusual Noby Noby Boy. While I've never played the latter, I have to admit the first Katamari game was a blast to show non-gamers and parents. It confused the hell out of them, but not in a negative way.
Takahashi had been quite vocal in the past about his growing disinterest in the industry and in his employers as well. Speaking to the tech blog the Setup, he went as far as calling Namco-Bandai a "so-so" company, and mentioned how he could not see himself doing this in the future. The interview is quite an interesting read, so check it out. I for will await the day I can play in the park he's co-creating.
So what if it's in England?

It was only a matter of time. I agree with what he says Namco Bandai is indeed a SoSo company at this point.
