vga2010winners

Well the 2010 Spike TV Video Game Awards have come and gone, and we are again left to make sense of it all. If you weren't able to see the awards for yourself or missed a few announcements due to an urgent bathroom break, then you can catch them all here.

But first, my thoughts on the show itself, which was a mixed bag. While Neil Patrick Harris clearly stole the show with his humor and wit, the rest of the show was just there to bridge the awards and announcements. Making matters worse, the audio crew must have been straight from the local middle school A/V club, as the audio was all over the place. The censor was missing swears left and right, while an appearance by Nathan Fillion to talk about Halo: Reach's nomination was completely drowned out. But thats enough bitching; no one watches the VGAs for the filler.

It's all about who won what. Here we have the complete list of winners from the 2010 VGAs. However, if you wish to see the nominees head over to Spike.com.

While I agree with most of the awards, I do have to sit here and scratch my head at a few of their choices. For one, I cannot understand how Sgt. Woods for Black Ops got Character of the Year. While Black Ops had some good characters, none of them really stood out as amazing. The other oddity was Mass Effect 2 for best RPG. While I love the game and I'm glad it got Best Xbox 360 game, it was barely an RPG, especially compared to Fallout New Vegas.
