Well it seems like that mysterious press event Sony had scheduled for the day after the VGAs was to show the press what Uncharted 3 is all about. Now that the embargo has been lifted, game previews are springing up all across the Internet. Unfortunately, our Spike VGA experience was from our couch (although we did have some awesome nachos).
However, Destructoid was there and have a great, if overly enthusiastic, preview telling us all about what we can expect to see in Uncharted 3 (rhyme not intended). The gameplay demo shown was the extended version of what was shown on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
The bulk of Destructoid's preview talks about the how amazing the fire looks, which I'm inclined to believe seeing that the Uncharted 2 had some of the best visuals of any game I've seen. The one thing, and this is a big thing, that's concerning me is that it looks like the gunplay from Uncharted 2 is back. My biggest complaint about Uncharted 2 is the gunplay. It felt so tacked on and just took away from the game, and it looks like it's going to do the same here.
Below is a small bit of gameplay footage from the demo. Head over to Destructoid.com for their full preview.
