It seems that Homefront is officially a success. Yesterday THQ announced that Homefront, which was released on March 15th, has surpassed 1 million units in global sales and 2.4 million units shipped. This is great news for the games' developer Kaos Studios, as Homefront has been receiving mixed reviews. It should also be noted that according to Major Nelson's Blog, Homefront took the number 6 spot on multiplayer games from Xbox Live one its first week, which is a pretty good achievement for an unproven IP. Personally I think the franchise has a lot of potential and I would love to see that come to light in a sequel, but more on that when I manage to get my review out.

The first thing I did when I got to PAX East this weekend (other than waiting in line for 45 minutes to get my Press Badge) was run over the the Homefront booth and play the first 10 minutes of the game, and it was everything I wanted it to be. But, more on that later.

The second thing I did was hunt down Homefront Community Manager Jeremy Greiner for an interview about the game. Hit the Jump to check it out.

With Homefront now going Gold and the release less than two weeks away, Kaos Studios has released a new multiplayer trailer showing the incredible amounts of carnage this game aims to create. You have tanks, humvees, drones, helicopters, and even bombers all going on at once. It looks absolutely chaotic, and that is fantastic.

Take a look at the full trailer below.

Defend your Homefront! Join the resistance!

Homefront is coming to San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens tomorrow between 12pm and 1pm PDT to hold a rally for the game. It's an interesting marketing idea that really capitalizes on the current global protest fever. Plus, it takes place in the protest capital of America: San Francisco. They protest anything there, Including Happy Meals!

This week, Homefront launched the 'Occupation' section of its official website. The site paints a grim picture of Occupied America in 2027; KPA soldiers rounding people up, homes being invaded in the middle of the night, and people risking their lives to aid the resistance. All the information is pieced together by the 'Voice of Freedom Network', which is dedicated to spreading news and aiding the resistance

Just to give a taste, THQ sent out some photos of the Occupied America and even a video showing Salt Lake City being bombed by Korea Forces. More photos and videos can be found on the 'Occupation' site.

The Great Leader has seen fit to provide Americans living in the occupied cities of Los Angeles and San Fransisco with "Subsidized Good Food for a Better America".

That's right, THQ and Kaos Studios are promoting Homefront by bringing back the Pyongyang Express. What is the Pyongyang Express? Well, it's the best, most onliest North Korean BBQ truck! The Pyongyang Express ran through Los Angeles last yearduring E3, providing hungry attendees with cheap food and drinks. Now, it's back and armed with $1 tacos and 50 cent water battles, and on random days it's equipped with an Xbox 360 to let people experience Homefront for themselves. Have you run into the Pyongyang Express? Let us know in the comments, and you can follow it on Facebook.

Machinima is the lucky recipient of an exclusive Homefront "Resistance" Trailer. The video gives a mouth-watering glimpse of some of the games moments, both big and small. The trailer is narrated by "The Voice of Freedom", which is a nice tie in to the book.

The Resistance trailer shows us what we can expect from Homefront's single player campaign; helicopters and San Fransico seem to be involved. Hit the jump to watch the trailer, courtesy of Machinima.

It seems like we can't go a month without hearing about some weird censorship issue with video games in other countries. This time around, it has to do with Kaos Studios' Homefront being censored in Japan. The odd thing is what's is actually being censored. According to Andriasang, the Japanese publisher Spike is removing references to North Korea and Kim Jong-il, replacing it with "The Northern Leader" of "A Certain Country to the North".

Video game delays are part of the biz. Sometimes games get pushed by months or years. Well don't worry, Homefront has only been pushed back by a week. The game is now scheduled to release on March 15th in the U.S. (the 18th for the UK), instead of the 8th. This was confirmed by Homefront's official twitter @HomefrontGame

So now I have to wait another week, sad face. I'm sure its for a good reason. In the mean time I'll just hunker down and watch Red Dawn. Wolverines!
